$50,000 Fountain Gift Highlights New Canine Health and Wellness Center

Thanks to the generosity of the Lions Project for Canine Companions, a beautiful fountain now stands proudly at the heart of the new state-of-the-art Canine Health and Wellness Center. This marks the fulfillment of our $50,000 pledge—and a shared commitment to the future of service dogs and the people they serve.

As part of Canine Companions' strategic growth plan, the new Health and Wellness Center at the Northwest Training Center is already making a transformative impact. This cutting-edge facility is expanding breeding capabilities, shortening waitlists, and enabling more clients to benefit from expertly trained service dogs.

The Canine Health and Wellness Center now:

  • Houses a modern, fully operational veterinary clinic, delivering the highest standard of care for mothers and neonatal litters.

  • Serves as a national hub to support, educate, and train our growing community of volunteers on best-in-class care and training protocols.

  • Facilitates pioneering research that advances the field of service dog training and enhances the lives of individuals with disabilities around the globe.

Since opening, the CHWC has helped increase the number of puppies born each year from 800 in 2020 to over 1,300 in 2025. Our community of breeder caretakers has more than doubled—from 90 to over 200 dedicated volunteers—ensuring consistent, hospital-grade biosecurity and exceptional care standards for all breeding dogs and litters.

This is not just a building. It is a beacon of innovation, compassion, and progress—and a testament to what we can achieve together.
