Service Dogs for Veterans
Canine Companions recognizes the urgent and growing need for programs that provide support to veterans with disabilities. Many of the brave men and women returning home from combat with disabling injuries experience a litany of new challenges.
Certified Therapy Dogs
Although the goal is for all Canine Companions puppies to become full-time Service Dogs, not all will make the cut due to medical issues or temperament. Upon being released from professional training, an adopter may choose to pursue certification as a Therapy Dog Team.
Canine Companions believes in the power of the human-canine bond and proudly supports these teams in making a meaningful impact in their communities. These dogs work as volunteers in the community, when they and their handlers are invited by approved facilities.
